How do we provide added value to give you more than expected for your budget?
1. By helping to demystify and take the stress out of the design and planning process
2. Through a highly considered design approach: innovative, sustainable and high-value (optimum balance of quality and price for the budget) solutions that provide building users with a desirable, comfortable, energy and cost efficient building. Sustainable design and recycling is a key focus for our designs so we can look to reduce your energy usage and heat loss, which in turn means lower bills for you and lower carbon emissions for the planet. We can help you increase your property value through high quality design
3. Just as important, we look at the quality of spaces and your experience in them. We ultimately place people at the heart of our designs because architecture is more than just buildings - it is emotive - and about the creation of happy, healthy spaces and places that enhance wellbeing. See our ‘Home is More’ blog below

‘Home is More’ because of Covid
During the Covid pandemic, we have all had to shift the way we live, work and think. Our homes are no longer just homes, they are now our workplace and gym, but most importantly our safe haven. We have seen a surge in homeowners requiring their homes to be adapted to include home offices, cinemas and gyms.
With all these multi-purpose uses for our homes, it is increasingly important to maintain ‘separation’ between home life and work life, so that for example you can remain focused on either resting at home, or working at work. This separation can be done physically and mentally, for example with a dedicated office room in your house or a separate outbuilding in your garden. This enables the ‘journey to work,’ which we have to endure every day, but which is crucial in preparing us mentally for work so that we are focused.
If we do not have this separation, it can be difficult to either get away from work in order to relax, or focus on your work. This is one of the ideas we consider when designing multi-purpose spaces, in order to enhance your experience and wellbeing at home.
Sustainability and recycling
We have signed up to the RIBA 2030 Climate Challenge to help meet net zero whole life carbon for new and retroffited buildings by 2030. It sets a series of targets for us to adopt to reduce energy use, embodied carbon and water use. By meeting these targets we will play our part in addressing the global crisis. See further information: Click to see link
To start meeting the challenge, we implement measures in our design and specification of client’s buildings, such as thermally efficient building fabric with recycled insulation and thermally enhanced glazing; building orientation and glazing which optimises light and solar gain and recyclable materials. This result in more energy efficient buildings which not only reduce bills for clients, but remain within budget and reduces the impact on the environment too. We also use local suppliers and materials where possible to reduce carbon footprint. This is a considered approach which provides the client and environment with better value. We also aim to explore renewable energy sources such as solar panels and heat pumps.
Projects we have been appointed on include:
Ground floor extensions and remodel of a 4 bedroom house in Walsall. The family purchased their new home and aim to update it to meet their needs. A series of combined and separate spaces makes for a rich living experience, allowing everyone to have their own spaces for work and play.
Loft conversion to a 3 bedroom house in Erdington. The client required an extra bedroom with en-suite, space for a home office, additional storage and wardrobe space in her busy family home. This was provided in a loft conversion and by maximising the existing roof space. A Juliet balcony was also provided to take advantage of garden views.
House remodel and renovation in Great Barr. The client required the house to be much brighter, with open connected spaces, yet still maintaining flexibility of separate spaces. The result was a bright, airy and open house that has totally been transformed to provide an uplifting and healthy living experience.
Rear and side extensions and interior remodel to a house in Oldbury, Sandwell. The client requires a flexible living, working and play space, as well as a new ground floor bedroom and shower room. A light airy extension and garden views is important for wellbeing. The open plan is flexible to allow uses and functions to change as the client’s family grows. The spaces in the open plan are connected with a flow that suits the family lifestyle, and with clearly defined zones so that family members can separately get on with what they are doing.
Interior remodel, renovation and garage conversion to a 4 bedroom family home near Sutton Coldfield Town Centre. See projects.
New garage in Moseley, enhanced for secure dry storage and workshop use. Sustainable design features such as recycled materials, and rooflights to provide natural light/ventilation and solar gain.
Ground floor extension and garage conversion to a new house in Great Barr. The family would like an open plan living, cooking and dining space leading to the garden. The garage conversion will be a child’s play room and home cinema.

Garage conversion and interior remodel to a family home in Erdington, Birmingham. The clients require the garage to be re-purposed to include home offices, utility and kitchen extension. We identified a way to achieve their needs through careful re-planning of the existing spaces, and avoid a more costly extension. This economic approach will allow the client to achieve their needs, and with the cost savings, may even be able to achieve more.

The client requires a larger home for their family with a large centralized kitchen as the heart of the home, as well as open plan living including a lounge that can be separated with a flexible folding partition. The kitchen, dining room and lounge all had to connect to the large south facing garden and the outside, achieved with a series of bi-fold doors and roof lanterns to provide an airy and uplifting sun lounge, which creates the sense of being outdoors. Larger bedrooms with en-suites and a a new master bathroom was also required. Light and natural ventilation were requirements to maximise sunlight and promote wellbeing, as well as reducing energy bills. All the spaces thread together to form a home which promotes happy healthy living, and social events and interactions.

Reviews and Testimonials from our clients . . .
“We would 100% recommend you to others, no doubt at all. Thank you for all your work and efforts getting our build to happen, I know it didn't always feel like it would with the endless rounds going through planning permission!! I love our new extension. You were able to bring knowledge and perspective to make suggestions and provide advice on things that we would otherwise not have considered. As someone with a personality preference for the bigger picture and who shared the general feelings I wanted from the space I feel you were able to take this and turn it into the details and practical elements necessary for it to become a reality.
I contacted three architects in total initially and I feel that price-wise everyone was near enough the same, or very comparable. But I felt that you were really interested in the project and what we wanted to achieve and sounded really passionate on our first phone call about what you do and helping people to achieve their build. Given the amount of time and detail that you put into your work I feel we got excellent value.
We were in regular contact to check and ensure progress was happening as expected, and you were always understanding of the pressures in our personal situation (i.e. having a baby during the process and therefore a small person to look after whilst also trying to manage the build etc.)” Emily Thorpe and Jason Medley - House extension and remodel in Northfield
“Overall, we are very happy with what we have ended up with, we achieved the outcome we wanted. As the overall cost for the project was explained at the start, we were happy with the final cost. All advice was provided in a timely manner and specialist advice was all sourced with the price and quality in mind. Options on materials were provided to show the best solutions in the budget envelope. We would recommend Vibrant Architects, as they provided excellent advice, access to expert advisors and also ensured that we were able to get the final build into a compact plot with all the elements we needed. They were able to provide key points of decision making and also options for our budget.” Mr and Mrs Parmar – House extension and remodel in Great Barr
“I had several constraints and requirements and lots of opinions and Kalpesh listened to me carefully and came up with an excellent design. He was very enthusiastic and communicative and considered all the issues involved to ensure a successful outcome. Thank you Kalpesh and best of luck in the future.” Stephen - Garage for workshop and storage in Moseley
“From the start we had a lot of criteria for our project, Kalpesh was informative and offered solutions that worked for our space and budget. Any changes that were needed were done efficiently and to our specifications. Everything was straightforward and Kalpesh explained anything we had questions on. The service, attention to detail, communication and updates was excellent. Would definitely recommend.” Hazel - House extension and remodel in Oldbury
“We arrived at a design which conformed to budget. The finished project meets/exceeds our expectations. Timescale slippage did occur but were outside of our control ie. Covid lockdowns, and material shortages as a result. The quality is excellent. I would; and have recommended you to others. You were with us throughout, providing detailed drawings and updates. We wish you every success for the future." Frank and Sandra - House extension in West Bromwich
“I would highly recommend Vibrant Architects as the whole process was completed in a professional and friendly manner – made more difficult with the added issues around the COVID pandemic during the process. Kalpesh goes the extra mile on all aspects – from sourcing the specialist contractors and obtaining quotations, to dealing with the minefield that can be local Building Control and Planning. Thank you Kalpesh for delivering our project on time for our ‘pandemic restricted’ family Christmas Day!” Mark & Alison Walker - House extension in Stourbridge
“I highly recommend Kalpesh. He is a passionate professional with great design skills and depth of knowledge. Please budget in a professional like this you want be disappointed because it can change the trajectory of the final result for the better. Far too many projects give a blank cheque to the builders, and instead they should invest in the early design stages.” Mr Dhiman - Rear garden outhouse for Studio/Gym in Birmingham
“I highly recommend Vibrant Architects and will definitely use them again, also I would like to especially thank Kalpesh Patel for his contribution and nice work” Mr Housaini - New shopfront in Dudley
“I would highly recommend Vibrant Architects as they deliver on their promise and good value for money” Mr Shahban - Land purchase planning application, Birmingham
